Hey all!
Missed me? You better!
My internet has been doing a good job @ frustrating me. For whatever reason, it has refused to connect. I'm talking about my laptop by the way. So I decided to use my desktop, but I think it's got a virus .... again! I dunno wat 2 do 2 my yeye desktop for real. I feel like just giving up on it, but I can't. He (my desktop) has been there for me for sooo long. I am writing from Sola's laptop. Thank Goodness her loud mouth is not here. Trust me, that girl's is loud as shit. I had 2 pop an advil 2 day cause my head was aching from hearing her scream all day long
We went 2 a bridal shop to look for a wedding gown (even though the wedding is more than a year away). All that ended up happening is me getting ideas for my own wedding. But it's kool though.
Anyways...I am really really frustrated.
Oh, by the way, if you care to know, Ms. Flow is back in town oh. Yeap, she came on wednesday, so she should be gone by Sunday @ most. The annoying thing is that I have to attend a function hosted by Uju's aunt on saturday, and Uju, Funmie and I have to serve the people - we're the maids of the day, so to say. Anyways, the point is that I do not like attending functions when ms. flow is around. She will make me feel too conscious, and I would not be able to enjoy the event. You know how these things work..... :HISS:
Oh well.....!
Well, I'm gone for now. I will be back soon as I can access the internet. You know I will not leave you hanging for any reason.
Since I cannot shut up, lemme mention that my Boss in Naija is the best Boss in the whole wide world. He and his wife are so understanding.

When It Rains, It Pours
Howz every1 doing? As stormy as I am?
Can you believe that it has been raining cat and dog since Saturday? Scratch that, it has been FLOODING!....EVERYDAY SINCE SATURDAY!
The good thing about it is that it is cooling the weather down a notch, but on the other hand, who wants to keep walking around under an umbrella? Who wants to keep coming home with wet feet? And who wants to walk in the mud? Definitely not I.
2day, I went to see Waist Deep featuring Tyrese Gibson and Megan Good. Before watching the movie, I was sure it was just some gangsta kinda movie filled with drugs and violence, but 2 my surprise, it was filled with drugs, violence....and fun! Yeap, I actually turned out to like the movie. Twas really nice.
I have officially found and fallen in love................ with the engagement ring of my dreams! I saw it in a wedding catalogue from Sola. I ripped the page out (without her knowledge, of course. She'll kill me if she finds out...especially since the catalogue isn't hers). Woah! I have never seen a ring that beautiful. I could not stop lookin @ it. I mean, I was blushing all colors this evening. I was gonna paste the ring on my wall sef, but I don't want anyone 2 see it. It's gonna be a secret...until that special someone is ready 2 propose, then I'll show him the ring. Sorry, but I do not believe in lettin a man pick my wedding/engagement ring all by himself, and I don't wanna go with him either cause it's unromantic.
*looking at and admiring the ring again* I really feel like snatching it off the finger of the woman advertising it. Dayum! This is too good. Forget almost everything I said about my ring; I didn't know what I was talking about. Now, I do. Woah! This is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It doesn't get more beautiful than this.....chei! I'm telling you I can't get enuff......... woooosaahhhh
By the way, I've gone loko for dolo with this whole wedding stuff. All I did today was get websites for wedding sites (gowns, invitations, rings, shoes, keepsakes, etc). Nna nawa oh! Odikwa very serious for real.
I've gone from planning Sola's wedding to planning mine (even though I am not even engaged o!)

Unpaid Wedding Planner
No, I am not a wedding planner, but in the past few weeks, my best friend, Sola (Busola) has kept me up for hours talking about the wedding. Of course, I'm supposed to be helping her plan it, but would I get paid for my precious time? Time that I coulda been using to do something more productive...like sleeping. Nope, I won't be getting paid.
Anyways, 2 be honest with you, I have been obsessing about the wedding myself. Being the maid of honor and all, I was thinking maybe I should sign autographs on that day. What do you think? I'm also gonna be reading her and her boo a love poem on that day, so I'm thinking people might want me to sign autographs after that. It's not easy being a poet and a maid of honor all on the same day, @ the same time. So ladies and gents, I'm gonna be there with my majic marker (permanent ink) 2 sign away! Sola thinks I've lost my mind. But guess what? So has she (that's the only reason she'd pick me to be her maid of honor - not that I'm complaining, of course).
I have been thinking about my own wedding, of course. I have been thinking about what kinda engagement ring I want et all. I know I definitely want a platinum band with a HUGE rock on it, but I dunno what shape I want the diamond to be though. I'm thinking emerald, princess, or square...I dunno... it's a tough decision.
I'm sure you're wondering if I'm about to get engaged, right? Well, no, not really. I just wanna plan ahead, you know? I always hear stories of men being confused about what kinda rings their women would want, so I'm tryna spare my man all that hassle - whosoever he may be.
I realise this post was supposed to be about my wedding planning for Sola, but sorry, more important things (my engagement ring) got in the way. The good things about Sola's wedding planning is that as I research stuff for her, I also get ideas for my own wedding. Shey you get? And I don't care what anyone says, but I am doing my traditional marriage in Naija - period!
I'll be back later 2 tell you more about my recent obsessions.
:KISSES:

Guess Who Actually Has A Job....
Yes oh...that would be me. Can you believe that???
But lemme give you details sha. Yes, you're now looking at the kinda-new and definitely-improved columnist of JOY Magazine in Naija. JOY Magazine is a mainly-women's magazine and it is run by Festus and Toyin Eriye (Mr. & Mrs). I have a column in the magazine, and guess what it's called? Yeap, you guessed right - it's called Verastic. Who woulda thought, right? Haha.
Anyways, I write articles (what else), and so far, two of my articles have been published in the magazine. The great thing about this is that JOY readers accepted the magazine with open arms, and better yet sef, they like my column. Yay!
Anyways, if you live in Naija, then please, please, please go get yourself a copy of JOY magazine. It's worth it; trust me. I'm not just saying it because I work for them; it is really worth it.
My God, I have a job. This is serious oh. Vera has a job.....nawa o.
Lemme just take this opportunity to say that I am really, really, really, thankful to God for Blessing me this way. So many people are not working their dream jobs, but I am. I have a job where all I have to do is write. Nothing can be better. 2006 is really looking bright for me. Now, all I need is for....well, lemme leave that alone.
p.s. I will post the link for JOY magazine when the website is up (currently under construction).
Wooo Hoooooo
I'm sooooooooooooooooo happy. I've got a writing gig!

Congested Summer
Arrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh!!!!
I just typed up a whole kini to be posted, then I pressed the wrong button and it's all gone. Crap!!!
Anyways, I was saying that I have a cold. I have been congested since sunday and it's really frustrating because when the air conditioner is off, I'm sweating, and when it's on, I'm congested.
I'd rather be congested than hot anyways.
I can't remember everything I typed sha. (too bad)
I'm gonna have to end here.
I'm kinda sorta pissed, i think,
This is the second time this crap is happening. Really annoyin as u can imagine.

My Space
Ok, has anyone heard of the recene trouble that the social online site MySpace just got into? Apparently, a stupid 14 year old girl was stupid enough to give her name and number to some guy she never met. She even went ahead and met him and allegedly got raped by him. Well duh! Now, she and her gold-diggin parents are suing MySpace for $30, 000,000 (30 million dollars). They claim they are not doing it for the money, but to avoid the situation from happening to someone else's daughter. Like hell they are!
If the girl truly got raped, then I'm sorry 2 hear so, but whose fault is it? I'm not on MySpace and I won't ever be, so it's not as if I'm on their side, but damn, how can they be blamed for a girl's stupidity??? If homegirl wants to be stupid, then let her be stupid and ready to suffer the consequences. What was MySpace supposed to do? Be her bodyguard while she went out with the guy? I don't think MySpace should be held responsible for someone's imprudent behavior. I hope she has learned her lesson. If not, she can always join another social site and give the person her number again. Dumb ass lil girls.
I know I sound really pissed (almost as if the 30 million dollars will be coming out of my pocket, right? Well, I'm not really pissed. Just irritated. People always wanna take advantage of everything. That girl and her parents better keep their job and I hope they don't get shit but court fees. Nonsense!
Well, enough of the ranting.........
Well, that's it 4 now anyways. I'm @ the library tryna write my book and/or an article. We go yarn later.
Bye

Ireti's Birthday Party
On saturday, I went for Ireti's birthday. I'm sure you're wondering who Ireti is... well, lemme tell you. Ireti is Funmi's junior sista and we were celebrating her one yr birthday. Now, I know what you are thinking. You're thinking "Funmie has a one year old sista? How old is Funmie? Better yet, how old is Funmie's mother?" Well, I'll tell u this much. Ireti wasn't planned; she is the beautiful result of uhm.... I really don't know wat 2 call it. All I know is that she is very welcome. She's beautiful and we all love her. She's so adorable (unlike Funmie).
Anyways, I was the MC @ the birthday party, so I was really enjoying my hours of fame as I talked boldly into the microphone. Twas a good feeling. A few times I even thought about releasing an album right there on the spot...cause you know I sing so well, I would give Aretha Franklin a run for her money.... hahaha, I wish.
The party was fun sha. The kids enjoyed their games and food. I'm sure if it were up to them, they will come back the following day to continue the party. Well, maybe next year.
I'm still writing my book, though I have not written a whole lot for a while now. I'm on page 113 right now...and still counting. Anyways, make I carry my kaya go. We go yarn later.
Gatz 2 go now.

I'm Swamped
It seems like 4eva since I last updated this blog. The reason is because I am swamped. No, no, no, I do not have a job... well, actually, I kinda sorta have one.
I have been writing my book...I'm really tryna finish it (I've said it so many times that I'm staring 2 sound like a broken record). Anyways, I have been writing it and really concentrating on it, so I've had no time 2 write any other thing. Even though I'm usually multi-tasking, I can't seem 2 be able 2 multi-task in terms of writing. As in, I can't seem 2 write more than one thing @ once. If I'm going thru a phase of writing articles, I can't write anything else, and now that I am writing my book, I can't write an article of even update my blog. Oh well.
Either way sha, I have 2 write articles (though I haven't) and I still have 2 write my book and even update my blog. Nna nawa o. This isn't easy. I have a job where my imagination and creativity is wat guarantees me being paid.... not that I'm paid, but u sha understand, right?

5 AM
It's 5 AM and I am up updating my blog. Why am I up in the first place? Because I was writing my book. Like I mentioned in my last post, I really wanna finish it immediately. I started it since January, so I don't wanna drag it any longer. I have been praying for a lap top, and now I have one, so I know I have no other excuse for not writing it.
I am sooooooo freaking sleepy right now, but I still feel the need 2 complete this post. Tomorrow, I'll try and wake up early, so I can go to the library and do some more writing. Maybe I'll see a movie after that - I dunno. But first and foremost, I would try and go 2 the library. That is, if I wake up on time, of course.
My tv is on and they are showing some stock program. Can you believe there is a program for stocks and bonds? Well, I guess that's why it shows at 5am. Who the hell wants 2 watch a show about stocks and bonds...especially at 5am? In fact, I'm gonna mute the volume right now. There, I did it. I can hear the birds chirpping happily outside and I am still yet 2 sleep. Nawa o... I don kolo finish for real. I don kolo final. My neck is starting 2 get stiff. It hurts. I need 2 lie down and sleep.
5:05AM
Alright, alright, I'm goin 2 bed. Miss me while I'm gone.
Still 5:05AM
Now 5:06AM

Dinner-Date Wit My Family
So i finally went for the long awaited date with my entire family - yes all ten of us. I was really scared of the what the result of our date will be. You know how it is in every family; every one thinks everyone else is the black sheep of the family.
Anyways, we went to an all you can eat buffet, which i was happy with cause I knew what I was gonna eat - I eat the same thing (mashed potato, lil pieces of steak, hot roll (bread) and a huge bowl of sliced peaches). I cannot count how many times I had to stand up. First time, I took the three kids to get their food, and of course, they could not decide what they wanted to eat. The two kids from Nigeria kept frowning their faces at almost anything. The faces they made were embarrassing the hell outta me. I kept saying "stop doing that to your face!" Nna nawa o. I don't need to tell you that other kids will definitely be making fun of them when they start school. I feel for them oh.
As soon as we sit down, someone will say "I don't want it anymore." Ah ah! Oh well. I sha made sure that I ate my fill, even though I probably lost half of the food I ate because I had to constantly stand up and walk around to get something else for one of the kids. Those children sef.
I've been working on my book - thank God. Simeon, read my book (well, part of it) and really loved it, and that really helped me. Encouraged me a lot. Funmi and Ibukun have also read part of it, and they love it. It is so encouraging when they tell me how good and funny it is. It makes me wanna work harder to finish it. I really wanna finish it by June 30th 2006, so pray for me that I finish it.
Well, I'm really tired, so I'm gonna go to bed now.
Good nite.

Bored Shitless
I seriously cannot think of anything 2 write about. The only reason I am writing is because I wanna update my blog, but in reality I have nothing 2 write about. I have been writing my book (if that's an update).
Anyways, how have u been? I'm sure u can tell that I have nothing 2 write about. I keep typing words, but I am not really writing about anything.
I'm back @ my aunt's house. And guess what? I offered to come and clean the house. Can u believe that? I actually asked my aunt if she wanted me 2 come and clean the house. Of course, she said yea. Oh well, I'm done cleaning now. Just took a shower and freshened up. Feels oh so good.
Life is an interesting journey, you know. One day somethng is there, and the next day it isn't. One day something/someone means one thing, and the next day, it/the person means nothing. Nawa o. Odikwa serious.
Oh well. That's the end of this little tale.
I'll hit u up later.
Oh. If you care to know, I'm going on a date with my entire family - yes, all 10 of us. We're eating out.
I just realised the other day that I have a huge family in USA. I mean, in one house alone, there are 8 of them. I'm not even counting the ones that are here in Maryland, but in separate parts. Am I Blessed or wat?
Aiiight.... I'll be gone 4 now. Be back tomorrow.

Break-Up
Today, I went 2 see the movie "Break-Up" staring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Can't-Remember-His-Last-Name, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a really, really nice movie. I mean, I knew it would be good, but I did not know it would be that good. It was a romantic-tragic-comedy. Okay, some people might not see it as being tragic, but I do because of the ending. I cried so much men... but it was worth it sha; I think.
Anyways, I'm not gonna tell every1 the ending... don't wanna ruin it... though I am tempted.
I just got done reading "Chasing Destiny" by Eric Jerome Dickey... God, I love that man. He is Blessed, and I hope he wakes up and thanks God everyday 4 his Blessings. He is one Blessed man. Oh. In case you're wondering, the book is awesome! Always is. I trust EJD. I have read all his book, and I don't even bother reading d back or inside cover 2 know wat it's about. I know it will b good. Needless 2 say, I cried me a river in this book.
@ the end of his book, he advertised the website of his friend and writer, Lolita Files. Of course, I had 2 check it out. She's another good writer. Last year, I read a book from her called "Takes Like Chicken", and I liked it. Anyways, I learnt of a new book from her called "Sex. Lies. Murder. Fame". You know I had 2 go get it from the library.
B4 I read it sha, I want 2 first write a lil of my own book. I cannot become a national bestseller by reading other people's books. I doubt if there is an award 4 a 'national bestreader'... you know?
Oh well, make I end am here 4 now sha. Hope u had a good read.

Anything But Cute
Finally, I've brought my butt back home. It wasn't easy leaving them (especially my 4 yr old nephew, Toby - the love of my life), but I did it. He kept asking me why I was going and where I was going to; I don't know why we must go thru this every time I have 2 leave. It's like he has selective amnesia. He remembers every time I promise 2 buy him stuff like cookies, pizza & chips, but he neva remembers when I say "Toby, I don't live here... I have my own house. I have 2 go home but I will be back."
Anyways, yesterday, my mom took Toby, the other kids, and their parents (my uncle and his wife) on a cruise and decided 2 cruise them 2 our house. I just knew I would not like the state of the house when I got back, and boy, was I right.
There was popcorn all over the floor in the living. There was pop corn on the couch :ANGRIER: My lil toys (buncha lil stuff I faithfully collect) were on the floor :AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!: I don't play games wit my stuff. They may be family but it's in their best interest 2 back off my stuff!
My mom thought it was cute and funny how they wit my stuff. Wat is wrong wit my mother sef? Doesn't she know how anal I am when it gets 2 moving my stuff around? The way this woman was talking, I was starting 2 think she was switched by her not-so-evil clone. I mean, where was all this comin from? Don't these children know I'm older than all three of them put 2gether? See me see wahala o.
So b4 I even got a chance 2 do anything else, I had 2 first vacuum the whole house. Actually, first, I packed up my toys (or wateva I would call those things) and took them back 2 my room, then I vacuumed.... face swollen up the whole time. I can deal wit the pop on the floor and on the couch (I have no problem cleaning up; I always do anyway), but I have a problem with ANYONE (regardless of age) touching my stuff and not puttin it back. I'd prefer that my stuff not b touched, but if it must, please put it back the way u found it. I don't even like the comforter/quilt/blanket on my bed 2 be touched. Yes, that's how anal I am...and much more sef.
Well, everything has been taken care of sha. I really don't get angry easily and when I do get angry, I am not capable of staying angry 4 long. Of wat use is it anyway?
That's it 4 2nite. We'll continue 2morrow, ok?

My Butt Broke My Fall
I had 2 sit in the children's room with a cane to get them 2 go 2 bed. I sat there reading a novel, while they tried to play the playa. They tried 2 act like they were sleeping even though I knew they were not sleeping. Anyways, that's besides the point.
When they finally slept, I left their room gracefully feeling like a winner. I was sashaying down the steps in my slippery slipass (don't ask why), and then next thing I knew, I slipped and slid down two steps and landed right on my ass. Thank God 4 the flesh on my bones oh.... or else... who knows? Anyways, that was how I came tumbling down and I scratched my left hand. Nothing serious. It happened so fast that I did not have the time 2 stop or break the fall.
Lesson learnt: don't wear slippass on the steps... 2 dangerous.
Anyways sha... that's all I wanted 2 talk about.
I was supposed 2 be goin home this nite, but they have somehow convinced me 2 stay another nite. I betta be home 2morrow nite cause the thing don tire me finish. I'm in need of a good sleep... and shower. I don't like my aunt's shower; the water runs too small...like urine. Gets on my nerves. The shower takes too long. Plus I can't shower 4 as long as I can, so you can see it's a pretty frustrating thing goin on around me.
Anyways....

My Pissitivity Is In The Red Light District
I woke up this morning and did the regular job of Ekaite the house gal. I cooked, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. I know I have said it so many times, but I just wanna say it again that these kids are drivin me insane. I have more advils in the past three days than I take in a month. Nawa o, I really have 2 think well b4 having kids (especially since I want 5). Chei!
My aunt's house usually has four people (my aunt, her 4-yr old son, my other aunt, and my grandma), but now it has eight people - 10 if you count me and my mom who have been here since Friday....in the name of welcoming the new family. Well, I don ready 2 pack my kaya and go home. I'm done welcomin people abeg.
This afternoon, every1 (xcept the kids) went 2 bed. The kids were supposed 2 be sleeping, but they kept jumping up and down the bed, running up and down the stairs, and of course, shouting up and down the house. Every1 was irritated. You know how it feels when you're sleepy but can't sleep because something is hindering you. Anyways, I was sleepy too, but out of the goodness of my heart, I decided to watch the kids so that every1 else could sleep while I remained sleep deprived. I had 2 take a cane and sit by their (kids') door and watch them night a watch-guard. Of course, seeing the cane made them remain on the bed and eventually fall asleep.
After that, I went in2 the kitchen and cleaning up.... again! My aunt bought a lot of disposable plates, cups and cutleries, but I wonder how come the sink is always full of dirty dishes. It remains an enigma...that I am not really in the mood 2 solve.
Anyways, here's why I am actually pissed: this evening, the kids ate and made a mess everywhere. While they were eating, I decided to power up my laptop (4 the first time 2day o!) and what did my aunt say? She had the liver 2 tell me I have not been doing anything. She said all I did was stay on the computer all day. See me see wahala o! She seemed 2 have 4gotten so soon how she was sleeping soundly while I was sweating like a nama in the kitchen. She seemed 2 have 4gotten how I went 2 bed late, woke up early, and remained awake while every1 else took naps. Let's not 4get I have been the housegirl by default o. Na so so clean clean I dey do since. Ah ah, which kin wahala be this? I didn't even write my book sef. Nothing. My head dey nack like say band dey practice 4 inside. Anyways, my housegirl profession ends 2morrow cause I am going home.
I am so pissed right now that I have promised not 2 come back here, but I know I will. Of course, I will. I will probably even be the one 2 call and ask if they need my help. Of course, I already know the answer will be 'yes'. I won't feel comfortble stayin @ home and lettin them do all the work...or maybe I will, who knows? Body no be firewood abeg.
We go babble later sha.... :KISSES:

These Children Sef!
My brothers and sisters wey dey 4 internet...see as them wan turn me into Ekaite o! (no offense 2 whoeva actually bears that name). I cooked, I cleaned, I washed, I swept, I moped, I did it all. I yelled @ the kids, I slept on a recliner last nite (my neck is still stiff), I screamed, I shouted, my head ached... it all happened. See as this small children wan carry my head do sme-sme oh! The lil 5 yr old boy from Naija musta thought I was the house girl. That's the only reason he was talking 2 me like I was his mate. He betta recognize. I guess some1 mighta told him later cause he started calling me aunty after a while.... now, that's more like it. Though it doesn't change the fact that they were driving me insane!!!
So yes oh, I slept on the recliner last night with 9 other people in the house: my mom, my aunt, another aunt, 3 little boys, my auncle, his wife, and my grandma....in this America o! I'm pretty sure that was illegal. Abi how u take see am?
Anyways, my aunt tried 2 convince me to spend the nite there again and I refused oh. Ah ah... abi na melecine? Abeg, I miss my bed. It's an old, nameless mattrass, but I have always found it to be the best. Besides, I'll take anything over sleeping in that house again. They r all my blood relatives oh, but abeg, too much relatives is not good 4 my blood. The thing just dey scratch my body.
This is something I would have 2 discuss with my husband (when I get married, of course). I don't think I can tolarate too many relatives oh... haba! And my relatives (and husband's relatives) betta not think of comin 2 my house and telling me how 2 handle my own marriage... e no go work o. We would also talk about littering the house because I cannot take much of that either. It absolutely irritates me when some1 just litters the house... mba o... it won't work @ all sef. I guess that's why it's good to live with your partner b4 marriage, but mehn, as much as I wanna know wat type of man he is, I still don't wanna live with any man b4 marriage. I'm not gonna say I neva will, but I know I would rather not do so. Anyways, let a man propose first b4 I start wondering if I should live with him or not. In fact, let him even invite me 2 live wit him sef b4 I start planning how 2 decline his offer. Don't mind me and my fantasies jare...
I'm home now sha. I wanna go look @ some traditional outfits my mother's friend sent, so I can pick one of my choice. You know say man must not live by bread (english outfits) alone.
Good nite o
We go yarn tomorrow.

Very Irritable
Hmmmmm... make I tell una how my day dey go dey go dey go...
Like I told u b4, my uncle is moving here from Naija with his wife and two kids, right? Well, 2day is the day and I am at my aunt's house right now. My mother has gone 2 the airport wit my aunt 2 pick them up. When I came, my aunt told me to help them do some cleaning; according 2 her, they had done most of the work, so all I had 2 do was vacuum the basement...and her room... and Toby's room... and my grandma's room... and my other aunt's room... oh, and the living room upstairs too. Hot damn, that's the whole house. Anyways, I just said ok and carried the vacuum cleaner downstairs 2 start my J-O-B.
B4 all this sef, I was already irritable (as per ms. flow now), so I didn't even wanna be in any one's face. But damn, the house was hot. Do u know wat happens when you put an agitated woman with mood swings in a hot house fulla kids that wanna ask redundant questions and cry 4 every lil thing? That one na land mine o! 4 real, I was just a ticking time bomb. All I needed was some1 2 say the wrong thing...and of course they did... those yeye children. I yelled @ them so much that I was even feelin 4 them, but abeg their own wahala sef don pass my own tolerance capacity.
Anyways, we r just here sittin down and waiting 4 them 2 come back. Lemme confess 2 u: even though I am yet 2 see my uncle and his family, I am more than ready 2 pack my kaya and go back home abeg. I'm even sleepy sef... mmmmm.
Well, I'm gonna stop here 4 now and I will update u later when they come back. My God, I'm actually dreading it.
Ciao

Miss Flo' Don Carry Her Kaya Come Again
Yes oh, miss flo has finally come again. I had been expectin her since friday and she finally decided 2 show herself yesterday. I dunno wat makes her think she can just show up anytime she wishes 2...I mean, wat if I have plans? Anyways, thats by the way sha.
Today is the 2nd day so my discomfort has started (and it's my heaviest day too). My waist feels like there is a ton of bricks pulling it down (imagine that). I have somehow mutated in2 a real bitch... I am soooo not in the mood, and this would be the wrong time 4 any1 to mess wit me. I'm just angry 4 no particular reason and I am losing my mind! You shuld see my face; I look so evil.
Sam came 2 interview me 2day 4 some documentary he's makin bout naija men and women. I wonder if I did good - considering my mood. I was even dressed in all black 2 match the mood I was in; actually I shulda been dressed in red - considering the condition I'm in... shey u get?
My God! Even as I sit here on the couch, my waist is on fire. I can even begin 2 describe wat I'm feeling like right now; the best way 2 describe it is 4 u to feel it urself. Geeeeez!!! Why do I have 2 suffer this every month?
My uncle is from Naija tomorrow with his family. I guess I shuld be happy, but ms. flow is cloudin my judgement right now.
Well, I have a lap top now, so I cannot come up with any excuse 4 why I cannot finish my book. I'm gonna sign off now and try 2 do some writing. Pray 4 me, please. Thanks.
Bye.

Date Wit The New Family
2day Sola and I were supposed 2 go visit her mother-inlaw-to-be for cookout, but she was too tired cause she cooked last nite (she's a caterer and a damn good one too. Yeap, her food is awesome!) Anyways sha, we started the journey @ 12pm and decided 2 stop by Frank's house (Frank is Sola's fiance). We were there for a while and we had a lotta fun.
Then from there Frank proceeded 2 go 2 his friend's house for a cookout (memorial day and all), while Sola and I headed 2 her mother-inlaw's house where we sat there and chatted and chatted. She is really cool. She's Yoruba but she speaks Igbo fluently (and Yoruba, of course). We talked about anything and everything...she's truly a remarkable character.
At 5:30pm, we left Frank's mom's house and headed to Frank's friend's house. There was a cookout, but I didn't even eat anything; I just drank some soda cause I was mad thirsday. I met some Frank's friends and they were really nice and warm 2 me. At 7:30, Sola and I decided 2 leave; that was when they decided they wanted 2 play a game of 'gestures'. I had seen the game being played on tv, but I neva thought I would enjoy. Sola and I didn't wanna play cause we thought we wouldn't enjoy it; besides, I was kinda shy because these were all new people (except Frank & Sola) and I wasn't sure I was ready 2 act a fool in front of them. Finally, Sola and I succumed 2 their demands and joined the game. Frank didn't want Sola in his group cause he thought she would mess up, so I was in Frank's group... and this other lil 10 year old british gal who doesn't consider herself nigerian (though her name is Ayomi); her parents are the nigerian ones, not her.
Anyways, the game was mighty fun and 2 my greatest surprise, I wasn't one bit shy. In fact when 9pm came and Sola suggested we leave, I was quick 2 say no. There were lotsa funny moments like when one guy was tryna describe a word 2 his team; they couldn't get it and when the buzzer sounded and the judge (one guy was our judge...referee so 2 say) said the word was 'saliva', the guy said no, so his team mates asked him 2 spell it and he said S-A-L-I-V-A. Now, that was funny!
4 those who don't know...the gestures game is a game where people r divided in @ least two teams, and there has 2 be at least 2 people in each team. One member of the team picks a card wit a word in it and tries 2 act it out (without utterin a word). For example, if the word is 'ball', the actor has 2 obviously dance. The team mates have 2 be able 2 guess d word correctly. So the success of the team depends on the acting skills of the actor and the smartness of the team members...and luck sha, cause sometimes you get a word and you don't even know the meaning. Twas fun anyways.... really fun!
I'm watching X-Men II. I neva watched it and since I intend 2 go watch the third part on wednesday, I owe it 2 myself 2 @ least watch this part, so I can fully comprehend the movie...you know?
Well, that's it for now. Typing this blog is interrupting my concentration; I actually have it on PAUSE right now, so lemme go and continue jare. We go yarn later
Oh crap! my laptop has lost its internet signal... thats d thing wit lap tops sha.
Well, I'll wait 4 it 2 come back...
*bout 10 seconds later* Ooooh, it's back
Bye!
